This is the True Story

A son says to his father: ‘Dad, would you be willingly to run a
marathon with me?’

The father, despite his age and a heart disease, says ‘YES’.

And they run that marathon, together.

The son asks: ‘Dad, can you run another marathon with me?’ Again
father says ‘YES’.

They run another marathon, together.

One day the son asks his father: ?Dad would please do the Iron Man with me?’

Now just in case you wouldn’t know, ‘The Iron Man’ is the toughest
triathlon in existence; 4km swimming, then 180 km by bike, and finally
another 42 km running, in one stroke.

Again father says ‘YES’

Maybe this doesn’t ‘touch’ you yet by heart … until you see this

“A Pessimist sees the Difficulty in every Opportunity but An Optimist sees the Opportunity in every Difficulty.”

Life teaches us all lessons, and you can’t bunk these classes. Life will not stop until the lesson has been driven in reasonably well enough! Avoidance is not the answer. Confrontation is an uglier but better option than the first.

If you do not sweat enough during practice, you will most certainly bleed on the battle field. Nothing worth having comes easy. Persevere, tolerate, be patient. It’s when things go wrong that you must not quit – become wiser and that much closer to what you want!

Lets never be proud not be depressed for what we are and which position we hold. Remember “After the game is over, king and pawns go in the same box”.

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes of your goal. That’s when its time to re-schedule, focus and get back on trak – the road to success.

The greatest barrier to success is the fear of the failure. Lets dump our fears and succeed. You never know, every passing moment is another chance to turn it all around !

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital
room. One man was
allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to
help drain the
fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s
only window. The other
man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men
talked for hours on
end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes,
their jobs, their
involvement in the military service, where they had been on
vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window
could sit up, he
would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the
things he could
see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour
periods where his
world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity
and color of the
world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and
swans played on
the water while children sailed their model boats. Young
lovers walked arm
in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the
city skyline
could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite
detail, the man on
the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine
the picturesque
scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade
passing by.

Although the other man couldn’t hear the band – he
could see it. In his
mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it
with descriptive
words.

Days and weeks passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for
their baths only to
find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had
died peacefully in
his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital
attendants to take the
body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he
could be moved
next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch,
and after making
sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to
take his first look
at the real world outside.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside
the bed.

It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could
have compelled his
deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things
outside this
window

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not
even see the wall.

She said, ‘Perhaps he just wanted to encourage
you.’

Epilogue:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy,
despite our own
situations.

Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared,
is doubled.

If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you
have that money
can’t buy.

The train has started moving. It is packed with people of all ages, mostly with the working men and women and young college guys and gals. Near the window, seated a old man with his 30 year old son. As the train moves by, the son is overwhelmed with joy as he was thrilled with the scenery outside..

” See dad, the scenery of green trees moving away is very beautiful”

This behavior from a thirty year old son made the other people feel strange about him. Every one started murmuring something or other about this son.”This guy seems to be a krack..” newly married Anup whispered to his wife.

Suddenly it started raining… Rain drops fell on the travelers through the opened window. The Thirty year old son , filled with  joy ” see dad, how beautiful the rain is ..”

Anup’s wife got irritated with the rain drops spoiling her new suit.

Anup ,” cant you see its raining, you old man, if ur son is not feeling well get him soon to a mental asylum..and dont disturb public henceforth”

The old man hesitated first and then in a low tone replied ” we are on the way back from hospital, my son got discharged today morning , he was a blind by birth, last week only he got his vision,  these rain and nature are new to his eyes.. Please forgive us for the inconvenience caused…”

The things we see may be right from our perspective until we know the truth. But when we know the truth our reaction to that will hurt even us. So try to understand the problem better before taking a harsh action

You may be a skillful, effective employer but if you don’t trust your personnel and the opposite, then the chances of improving and expanding the business you deal with, are extremely limited.

It’s not critical for the employees to like the boss, but they have to trust him or her. If not, he won’t be able to lead them and the workers will have little motivation at work.

Truth and trust are connected together. You could be honest for years but one lie can destroy the trust you have built all this time and there is no doubt that regaining that trust is very difficult.

You have to be honest. Do not say “I don’t know” when you know. Be straight and say exactly what you have in mind. When you say “No” mean it. We have to realize that the work place is not a popularity contest. Tasks need to be completed and work’s goals should be accomplished with success.

Therefore, trying to be pleasant all the time will build obstacles to your job and disorientate you from your real goals at work.

Open your ears and accept criticism from employees or colleagues. It’s hard for every person to accept comments – especially negative – but in order to lead you will have to. Always listen to other ideas, suggestions and encourage open discussions. That doesn’t mean, in case you are the manager that you don’t decide according to your facts.

Demonstrate the trust. Just saying “I trust you” is not enough. You have to show it by assigning responsibilities and providing all the tools they need in order to succeed in the tasks you assign to them. When we say tools we mean training, information

Recognize the well done job. People need to be appreciated especially at work. When an employee is productive, and finishes the assignment successfully show your appreciation directly. People need the approval to be in public and the negative comments in private. It’s in human nature, we can’t change it, and so it is important to follow that rule.

To sum it up, you have to do what you preach, and be clear with your actions. When you say “No” or “Yes” mean them, and of course you have to give the example. If you enforce a rule at your company but you are the only one who breaks it, don’t expect the rule to last for long.

Want to have great ideas? You could try waiting to see if they pop into your head someday, and they honestly might. However, if you want a more systematic method you can use today.

1. Get knowledge in the area in which you want the ideas.
2. Use idea-generating techniques.
3. Choose the best ideas from the results.

Great Ideas Start With Knowledge

You wouldn’t expect to come up with a new theory of relativity if you had no knowledge in physics or mathematics. You need some degree of knowledge in the area in which you want new ideas. For truly great ideas, it helps to have a great deal of knowledge.

To create a new transportation device, for example, you would want general knowledge in that field, as well as more specific knowledge. This might include knowing a little about all the current modes of transportation. You might add to that a list of things that have been tried and failed, and a list of all the things that people want in their transportation.

Great Ideas From Techniques

Ideas and inventions start in the mind, and the mind follows certain patterns and rules. This is why tools such as problem solving techniques and other idea generating techniques work so well. Consider the “concept combination” technique, for example. Tell your mind that you need a useful combination of a plane and a motorcycle, and it will search until it finds it. This mind took twenty seconds to imagine wings that expand out at high speed from a motorcycle, allowing it to glide right off the edge of a cliff.

The technique of redefining problems in many ways can open whole new areas to explore. Redefining “inexpensive homes” as “ways to help people afford homes” has lead to all sorts of new financing methods that have made it easier to buy a home even as prices have risen. If “better job” becomes “better way to make money” you open a whole range of possibilities. There are dozens of great idea generating techniques to choose from, each with its own advantage.

Many Ideas To Choose From

The more ideas you come up with, the more likely you are to find good ones to work with. This is why you should learn the systematic ways to produce new concepts. Finally, if “great” means “important” to you, you need to work in important areas. There’s nothing wrong with inventing a better clothes hanger, but if you want to change the world, start working on new ways to save the environment, ways to end hunger, new political processes that avert wars and other great ideas.

Standing on the shore of life,

I am no longer an angry young person,

I have learnt how to be calm.

Fought I have many battles of life,

Scraped through each, but scarred;

Many times I was without a weapon,

Very often I fumbled, even with a sword.

Days have gone down the by lanes,

I may have died a million times

But every time, I had a new birth.

The warm breeze touched my face,

Made me feel at home, but moved on;

I incessantly requested her to stay back,

….But I was late, she was gone.

As I stand here with the world behind

I know I have people watching me,

But I want to cross the shore,

As someone is waiting for me on the other side of the sea..!!!

What are you doing with your Life: would you say you are living your dream; or are you living from hand to mouth, making the best of things, just getting to the next week – what we might call: existing rather than living?

If you are living your dream, then well done: you are truly on the road to success. If you are not living your dream – or even if you have no dream at present – then do not despair because this little book was written for you. We are going to help you to find your dream, develop it and then to actually achieve it!

If you think about it, nothing at all that now exists within our experience of physical reality did not first exist in the mind of the person who made it or brought it into being. In all cases, everything is created twice: the physical creation follows the mental creation.

To succeed, you must have a dream, or you may prefer to call it a vision – and you must completely commit yourself to its ultimate fulfillment – that is the essence of the mental creation.

Let it really sink in because it is true that you can have anything you want; you can be anything you want to be; and you can do anything you want to do.

Once you have your dream. You too need to demonstrate that kind of resolve – and let me tell you plainly – you are capable of it!

It requires you to take actions that are congruent with your wishes in order to translate them into reality, but the first step is to have that dream- your own dream, not anyone else’s ideas about what is best for you in life – and then absolutely commit yourself to its achievement.
