It is not an uncommon sight in most of our homes, to fall prey to our parents’ or our spouse’s scolding after he or she returns home after a hard day in the office only to find the house messy and disorganized. The very sight of a messy house is daunting enough for the anger levels of the person to soar high. It builds up further if there is no one to welcome him and offer him a cup of hot tea. I am sure you will agree with this.

In today’s hectic world, it is important for us to know and recognize the symptoms of stress in the beginning and solve it immediately.

Most often than not, anger is usually caused by stress. The real culprit behind the irritation and anger is stress itself. Stress snatches away our peace and makes our lives miserable if we don’t learn to control it in the beginning itself.

Such stress-causing elements can do you good at times like urging you to stick to your schedule and do your work on time or head for the worse by yelling at the first person who comes your way when you are in tension.

You are likely to get stressed out sometimes due to your work place or family strains or it may even be caused due to the struggles and anxieties occurring within you. Many a time, we get stressed out due to frustration or defeat. Whatever the cause may be, it is up to us to take the situation in our hands and deal with it at the right time lest stress should get the better of us. This is because intense stress and pressure levels can produce effects detrimental to your health; it might act adversely on your physical as well as mental well-being.

Studies reveal that the stress-causing factors are the ones that help all the important parts of your body to act together and defend you from it. It is important that you learn to recognize stress before it leads to anger. For this, you must be aware of your own state of mind. Be alert to the signals sent by your body like your pounding heart, an urge to shout at the top of your voice and the like and immediately take control of the bad emotions. This acts as a check on you, to keep you from blowing your top!

Start looking at the situation from a positive point of view and try to change it, rather than becoming a prey to anger and causing disturbances within and around you. If there is anything annoying you, calm yourself saying that you will not react. Never vent out your feelings with your co-worker directly. Instead, try and take up the matter with your boss.

There are other alternatives for you to manage your stress better. Learn to stick to deadlines, learn time management skills, keep track of your finances and stay away alcohol, tobacco and substance abuse for a healthy and stress free life. If it’s your work that’s taking a toll on you, then start hunting for a better job.

Do remember to eat well and sleep well, for that’s what we are earning for. Take time off to pursue your hobby or meet your friends regularly for a chat.

Practice these aforesaid tips and keep stress at bay.
