In the course of our day to day life, all of us come across several instances of people complaining of their temper levels and how they are not able to manage their anger. Considering the work pressure and the fast-paced lives that we are all lead, many of us become victims of anger and struggle to bring it under control. It is very important for us to know how to manage our anger better for a happier lifestyle.
The moment you take time off for yourself and start analyzing yourself to know the intensity of anger that you express when stimulated, you will begin to realize that your temper is actually causing to curb you from expressing your other emotions. In the beginning, you might think that your anger is absolutely justified, but the truth is that your anger will prove detrimental to your overall well being in the long run. We may get angry if someone disrespects us or disobeys us, but what we all fail to realize is that instead of wasting time on as petty an issue as this, we could actually not let it affect us and be happy.
Because of our temper, we will often find ourselves giving in to situations which we would disapprove of otherwise thereby leading to frustration at not being able to voice our opinion or express your real feelings. On the other hand, if you are given an opportunity to express your opinion, feelings and thoughts, positive or negative, you will realize that such a situation makes a difference in you. It creates a feeling of freedom within you.
Whenever we analyze our emotions and ourselves we only end up suppressing some of our emotions because of our anger. If you feel depressed, lonely or hurt, then you must immediately tell the other party that you are feeling so rather than bottling up the feeling and expressing it in the form of anger in a totally different context, thus leaving people puzzled and upset at your behavior.
Remember to never vent up your pains and sorrows for long; instead express your problem to a confidante, interact with some one to arrive at a solution and take some weight off your chest. This is a better option than just throwing our anger around and spoiling everybody’s happiness.
Whatever may be the state of your mind, you must know that it is caused by your body. If you are on the warpath on a relaxed Sunday afternoon, then it is because your body has directed certain reactions towards your mind. Likewise, if you are on cloud nine on securing the first grade in your college, then your body produces different reactions to convey to your mind of your temperament.
Start learning to manage your anger. Do not hide a certain feeling of yours and let it erupt angrily taking everybody by surprise. Never let anger get the better of you lest it should affect your health and peace of mind. Say ‘yes’ when you want to say ‘yes’. Make sure that you only communicate what you are thinking for you to feel good and relaxed.
